Vital piece of funding for Public Square renewal project falls into place (video)

An agreement was reached that would allow $7.5 million of the property tax money intended for Higbee Building improvements to be used for the Public Square project. Cuyahoga County Executive Armond Budish said he will ask county council to pass legislation authorizing the county to issue bonds backed by the tax that will put the Group Plan Commission over the top of its initial $32 million goal.

8:54 am The U.S. economy added 295,000 jobs last month, bringing the jobless rate to its lowest point since May 2008. Ohio’s nonfarm wage and salary employment increased 25,100 in January from December.

United Way of Greater Cleveland brings in $41.16 million during 2014-2015 fundraising campaign

2:13 pm This year's campaign was a bit unusual for the fundraising powerhouse, given that it didn't publicly state a fundraising goal. Previously, United Way has had a publicly stated goal each year, except for its first in existence. This year's total is about $500,000 more than last year's haul.
